Crops need fertilizer in seeding season to provide growth nutrients. However fertilizer could be lost and washed away by rain. To resupply nutrients is necessary. In mid season (blossom and early fruit set), foliar fertilizer is the most effective and economical way to supply nutrients. All foliar fertilizer mixes with water as liquid type, the advantages are:
- GREAT EFFECT: acidity, water content and microbe in soil often reduce chemical fertilizer efficacy. Foliar fertilizer can increase fertilizer usage because crops can absorb nutrients directly from leaves. Using the same volume of fertilizer in fields, crops can absorb 20 – 70 % chemical fertilizer by root fertilizing but the absorption of crops is estimated up to 90 % by foliar fertilizing. In identical condition, repeatedly using foliar nitrogen fertilizer could save about 25 % fertilizers compare to soil fertilizing. Foliar fertilizing improves early growth and supplies great quantity of nutrients.
- SAVING TIME: mixing foliar fertilizer with pesticides is a great way to supply nutrients and repel pests at one time. It not only saves human resources cost but also raises efficacy of pesticides. According to research, nitrogen foliar fertilizing improves pesticide effectiveness. Foliar is also better than soil fertilizing in high density crops field due to ground fertilizing is not easy to achieve and evenly irrigated.
- FAST INFLUENCE: foliar fertilizer sprayed on leaves could reach mesophyll in ten minutes and bring effectiveness in couple hours. For example, it takes 4 to 5 days to gain the effect of fertilizing urea in soil. But spraying 1 to 2 % urea solution on leaves, the crop could absorb 1/3 nutrient within 24 hours. Nutrients could be transferred in every part of plants in 5 minutes while using 2% P2O5 foliar fertilizer but it takes 15 days to reach the same distribution and density by soild fertilizing.
- LOWER POLLUTION: due to unscientific and over using of nitrogen, nitrate exists and accumulates in soil, surface water system and vegetables. Foliar fertilizing could reduce loss of nitrogen, decrease air and water pollution compare to soil fertilizing.
- ECONOMICAL USAGE: The process of crops growth, if one element lacks, the symptom could be easily seen on leaves. Users could add macronutrients or micronutrients according to features shown to improve lacking elements. In addition, foliar fertilizing is easy to aim at certain purpose to fertilize, such as luxuriate leaves, strengthen roots and sweeten fruits. So that the use of fertilizer could be economized. During dry season, foliar fertilizing is the best way to provide crops nutrients.
- EFFECTIVE ABSORBING: at seedling stage, crops’ roots are not well-developing, the absorbing ability is weak and cause sprouts yellow and weak. When root system has trouble absorbing, foliar fertilizing is the best way for crops to get nutrients. Foliar fertilizing is easy to absorb and the fragile plants symptoms can be improved in a short time, especially for fruit trees and vegetables.
